The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick

“By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them” – Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1499)

Contrary to popular belief, this sacrament is not just for people in their last moments of life. Anyone with an upcoming surgery, chronic illness (mental and physical), or disability can be anointed.
