EHAP is the Emergency Housing and Advocate Program which is a project of the Freehold Clergy Association. We assist, empower, and educate individuals who are homeless in securing housing and other benefits that will ultimately ensure their ability to live independently with self-determination. We simultaneously advocate for these individuals and teach them to self-advocate when confronted by the various institutions, agencies, and other facets of society which may jeopardize their survival and success. We are dedicated to fulfilling this mission without judgment or intolerance while showing genuine respect and empathy for each individual. Religious congregations affiliated with the Clergy Association, including the Co-Cathedral, participate in the Emergency Housing winter program, as well as offering support to their other programs. ehapinc.org
FThe Freehold Clergy Association (FCA) is an interfaith group working to foster religious tolerance and cooperation. We sponsor two community wide interfaith services each year for Thanksgiving and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We raise money to fight hunger through the Crop Walk, and provide support to Open Door, an agency which was incorporated by the FCA. We provide volunteers and shelter to the homeless during the winter through EHAP, and we bring together members of our local Churches, Synagogues and Mosques to build tolerance and understanding through the Three Faiths Dialogue and other events. The FCA has served Freehold and surrounding areas for several decades and is committed to working together to solve the local challenges we face. See us on Facebook
